So far, nothing appears to CONTRADICT the fact that Ramesses II was the impressive builder-Pharaoh that we read about in the Bible, the same [?] Ramesses II that Moses pleaded with in the name of God and his ancestors to LET HIS PEOPLE GO. In the Bible, the life of Moses begins AS IN A MYTH: his mother set him afloat in the river Nile, in order to ESCAPE the authorities' ORDER OF DEATH of all first-born Israelites. He was taken in by the Pharaoh's daughter, and raised as an Egyptian noble.
