[Narrator] These conclusions are quite surprising. The SISTER KINGDOM to the north -- Israel -- with its rich soils and its temperate climate, was prosperous and developed. Whereas the kingdom to the south -- Judah -- with its rocky hills and its TINY POPULATION, only developed as far as a subsistence economy. They both share THE LAND OF CANAAN. One was strong, the other was weak.
